In key stage 4 and key stage 5, leadership, personal challenge, mental wellbeing, academic pressure relief, independence, and future readiness are core themes.

These are delivered through adventure-based expeditions and skills-focused retreats such as mountain hikes and multi-day challenges/expeditions, often with self-led components.

Students are shaped into teams through more involved group roles and tasks such as public speaking, project planning, and peer-to-peer leadership, with a deeper understanding of group dynamics and more advanced leadership concepts.

Stress management & wellbeing workshops on mindfulness and other topics help students prepare for exam pressures.

Core outdoor education skills target building further resilience, risk management, problem solving under pressure, focus, and time managemen

At this level, we are able to offer recognition or accreditation in the form of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Bronze, and Silver adventurous journey prep, as well as the Paddle UK Discover and Safer Awards.
